Well remakes of Southern hits and older Hindi films continue to get made and David Dhawan‘s Chashme Baddoor is another example of the same. A remake of Sai Paranjpye’s 1981 comedy film,Chashme Buddoor (a slight change in the spelling) and with the tagline ‘har ek friend kameena hota hai’ this one is supposed to be a more youthful and contemporary version of the original. The new screenplay is by Renuka Kunzru and the dialogues by Farhad Sahid. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Chashme Baddoor has Ali Zafar ( in place of Farooque Shaikh ),Taapsee Pannu ( in place of Deepti Naval),Siddharth (in place of Ravi Baswani), Divyendu Sharma (in place of Rakesh Bedi) essaying the main roles.
The film also has Rishi Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Lilette Dubey etc in the star cast. The music is by Sajid-Wajid while Sanjay F.Gupta is the DOP and Nitin Madhukar Rokade, the editor. Chashme Baddoor is slated for release on 5th April and lets see if the film manages to create some impact. Till then do check out the trailer of the film-
