Innuendo is a forthcoming indie feature film in English ( with a smattering of Kannada, Tamil and Hindi ) and it is the brainchild of Arvind Kamath, the writer, director and producer of the film. Arvind is an I.T professional who went on to quit his regular job and follow his passion i.e to get into movies. Starting by making numerous short films he has finally graduated to feature films with Innuendo. With a run time of around 120 odd minutes and shot in the digital format, this is a film made with complete collaborative effort.
Arvind Kamath on making Innuendo
Since I didn’t have enough funds to make it happen I assembled a team of 35 members who joined me only because of the script and my passion/faith helped in completing the film in April 2012 and we also had a private screening of the finished film. When they joined me I offered them a deal where I would only pay for their services in case the film makes money in any form(festival award money, crowd funding, other sources), struck similar deals with other vendors whose bills I’m yet to pay.
Since I was an unknown filmmaker, I thought the investors would only be able to have better trust in me in case I’m able to finish the film and then seek help to take it forward which I am doing right now.
Innuendo is a digital format film of 120 minutes duration and has a lot of potential at the festival circuit which I want to utilize and also showcase the film to a wider audience for which festival visibility will help. And by helping us reach out, you will also be helping those 35 talented young filmmakers, technicians, actors to get a platform for their career.
A single mother wanting to rekindle her relationship with her teenage son trying hard to bridge the gap times have created, a failed writer trying to revive his creativity amidst external and internal conflicts, a group of friends meeting up for a celebration end up trying to revive an unexpected situation and how these characters cross paths willingly or unwillingly forms the storyline of the film. This film is an introspective take on life the way it is. It’s about communication issues, creative obsession & self destructive motives.
And now that the film is ready Arvind is trying to raise funds to clear off payments to his cast and crew, pay the vendors and also to send the film to film festivals. Check here for more details.
We at MAM wish Arvind and his team all the very best for not just realizing their goal of fund raising but also to see to it that the film reaches out the audience in the best possible manner.
