Bollywood, Videos — By Admin on May 3, 2012 6:01 pm
An Anurag Kashyap film is always looked up to with a lot of expectation and his upcoming film Gangs of Wasseypur is no exception to the same. Be it factors like the subject ( centred around the coal mafia in Jharkhand ), the unconventional star cast, the no of songs involved ( around 25 apparently ), plan to release it in 2 parts with a gap of few weeks ( like RakhtCharitra 1 & 2 ), the film has always been in the news. Finally after keeping everyone waiting with bated breath the trailer and the first look of the film is out now.
Starring Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Reema Sen, Richa Chadda, Huma Qureshi and many others, the film has music by Sneha Khanwalkar and G.V.Prakash Kumar. Rajeev Ravi is the DOP and the film is produced jointly by Anurag Kashyap and Sunil Bohra. The film is slated for release on 22nd June and till then do check out the promising trailer of the film-

Bihari Subramaniyapuram…nice…btw ye ‘keh ke lenge’ ka matlab kya hain? i didn’t find the trailer to be extra-ordinary though…
The trailer looks thanda, hope the film will be much much better.
yes actually..a little too average…not Cannes material by any means..
So what is cannes material? Is it open only to certain type of cinema? Just like once upon a time bollywood was closed to everything except melodrama. Is festivals only open to films where there are no dialouges (even when it looks highly unrealistic) and which edited at slow pace with social message and selling stereotypes about Gypsies and Indian and Rest of the world apart from europe. ANd if it is then how come Festivals are different from our mainstream distribution system? Aren’t you stereotyping the kind cinema which should go film festivals and especially cannes?
You expect something extra-ordinary from Cannes. I am not saying such a masala gangster film doesn’t deserve or shouldn’t be screened in Cannes. Just that your expectations are very high and least of all is you expect something fresh. I found the trailer to be a mix of Rakta Charitra and Dabang. Surprisingly nothing very new which Kashyap has given us in practically each and every film of his.
By the way, this is what i feel just about the trailer. I hope that the films is way way better.
What are your thoughts on the trailer, Chhatrapal?
I liked it, may be i am biased as few of fav actors are acting in it. What about you? Are you biased just because it is going to Cannes? Atleast it is better than Pune 52 trailer and i don’t see any similarities with Dabang. RaktaCharitra yes … but not all revenge drama’s are the same and I hope cannes don’t choose films on the basis of trailers.
Ashwin, You are, unfortunately, goddamn right!!!!
Titling is ripped of from Inglorious Basterds Promo….Hoepfully the films a orginal
Hope to see Kashyap in a fine nick and Dhulia already looks like a star…. But i find the usage of abuse in trailers too gimmicky for my liking… The star cast should save the day….
Not so impressive trailer, but good to see that it’s not a
dark film as most of Anurag Kashyap films are. Seems like a fun and musical
gangster film.
The trailer is just about ok.But yeh film toh theatre mein dekhni hi hai.
I am sure that all thnda expression will be broken after release and i know this 100% real story so wait and see then pass your comments.
Yes.I am eagerly looking forward to watch it in the theatre as I said earlier.
Good for you if you 100% story, we mere mortals if you take pains to read are talking about trailer here and not the movie.
