Kalakalappu-Trailer

Sundar.C has been a prominent name in the Tamil Film industry in the last 2 decades. After initially directing a lot of popular films like Ullathai Allitha, Mettukudi ,Arunachalam, Anbe Sivam, Winner and many more, the acting bug got into him as well. After initially tasting some success with Thalai Nagaram in the main lead most of his other films as actor haven’t really done too well. So sometime recently he finally decided to get back to direction with Nagaram Marupakkam which again had him in the lead. Probably that was the trigger for him to get back to direction seriously and he is now ready with his next effort- Kalakalappu. Earlier titled Masala Cafe the title was recently changed to Kalakalappu.

And for a change Sundar.C has decided to stay completely behind the camera with this film. The last film where he stuck to direction alone was Rendu in 2006 which had R.Madhavan, Reema Sen and Anushka Shetty in the lead. Kalakalappu looks like a comedy entertainer and has a promising star cast comprising of Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya. The music is by Vijay Ebenezer and U.K Senthil is the DOP. What makes the project even more interesting is that it has been bought over by UTV Motion Pictures who is now getting seriously into regional cinema as well.It is slated for release on 11th May, 2012 and till then do check out the trailer-
