Plagiarism and Bollywood go hand in hand, we have seen movies which are direct lift of Hollywood films, scene by scene. In recent times some Bollywood producers have taken pains and parted with money to remake officially like in case of  PlayersKahaani has been the talk of the town of late and has been doing extremely well at the box office and receiving critical acclaim across the media circles.

We were surprised when we stumbled upon an article in TOI, which mentions that the climax scene of Kahaani is a lift of from the Angelia Jolie  starrer Taking Lives. Do check out this video and share your thoughts with us. Sujoy Ghosh in the meanwhile continues to remain amused hearing news of this video as well.

The video has been removed from youtube  this morning, stating that the user has closed his youtube account.

i personally think it’s a very small similarity to call Kahaani a copy of Taking Lives.. the entire story is different… well, Sujoy MAY have picked his germ from here, but the script is totally fresh… for me, her not being pregnant wasn’t really the biggest twist (i somehow had an inkling about that because of the similar dresses she wore till the climax where she wears a sari) – it was the entire plan to avenge her husband’s death which was crucial…

Well ..the scenes look more or less the same and Sujoy Ghosh might have lifted the idea verbatim.. Yet I dont think it takes away any thing from KAHANI.The screen play was always taut and climax easily blended with the narration. There is nothing wrong in getting inspired by a scene in another movie and even showing a changed version of the same.More than the climax scene, the real beauty of the movie was the blending of various Kolkotta street scenes in the narration of the story..Let us give some credit to Sujoy for handling the script as a whole..

As Quentin Tarantino said, “It’s not where you take it from that matters, it’s where you take it to.” And in this case Sujoy Ghosh has taken it several notches higher.

    Where is the video?????

Anyways having seen both; Taking Lives & Kahaani as films are pole apart..A scene does not justify any plagiarism…
