Director V.K.Prakash has been known to make films which are either out and out commercial like 3 Kings, Gulumaal-The Escape etc or films which are slightly more artistic like a Freaky Chakra ( Hindi ) or the recent Beautiful. Following Beautiful the next project from V.K.Prakash seems to be another interesting Malayalam film, Karmayogi. Based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Karmayogi talks about Rudran Gurukkal, the lone male descendant of the Chathothu family. The family represents the Yogi community, in which Lord Shiva is believed to have been born. Rudran is haunted by a strange kind of destiny. This forms the crux of the story.
Starring Indrajith ( as Rudran Gurukkal ), Nithya Menon, Padmini Kolhapure, Ashokan, Thalaivasal Vijay etc, the film has music by Ousepachan. R.D.Rajasekhar is the DOP and editing is by Beena Paul. Karmayogi has been generating some impact in the festival circuit of late and is expected to release shortly in March ( most likely 9th March ), 2012.
